Erasmus A. Steor was charged on the information of/the Harbor Master with neglecting to keep a riding light burning on the cutter Otahuhu.

Mr Kenny said he had been instructed by the Harbor Master not to press for a heavy penalty, as the night was a stormy one and the cutter had just arrived after a boisterous passage. His Worship said that under the circumstances he would fine defendant 20s and costs.

Court adjourned.
