Thames Harbor Board.
The usual fortnightly meeting at the Board was held at the Council Chamber! last evening. Presents—The Chairman, Messrs Bagnall, Ehrenfried, Brown. McGowan, Bead, Osbqfne.
After waiting sorce time for the deputation that had arranged to attend, the meeting re the new bye-law, and these gentlemen not turning up it was decided to proceed with the business. The clauses of the bye-law were gone through seriatim, and a number of amendments made. .: The Chairman stated that a clause would be inserted enacting that the bye-law would not affect Shortland wharf till present lessee's term had expired; The amended bye-law was then adopted and a copy thereof ordered to be sent to authorities. - '-
DYNAMITE STOBEAGE. Mr Renshaw wrote to, the Board concerning the exorbitant charges levied for the sloreage of dynamite. The writer suggested what he considered would bo a fair charge. After some discussion the Chairman, Messrs MoGowan and Osboiae were appointed a committee to enquire into the matter and report to Boatd. SHIPBUILDING INDUSTRY. Mr Ehrenfried's motion, of which he had given previous notice, re providing allotments for shipbuilding purposes, was considered. , .• Mr Ehrenfried spoke on the adisability of fostering the industry. He moved the appointment of a committee to report on the matter. This was carried. PENNY TOIL. In reply to Mr Oiborne the Chairman said the Burke street toll collector's time waa up that eight, and to-morrow no tolls would be collected. FINANCE. Several accounts were passed for pay* ment, and the meeting adjourned.
