The mail steamer Siam arrived in King George's Sound this morning. She brings fuller accounts of the disaster to the British troops at Isandula in January last. It is said the Zulus were marching in regular order to invade Natal when they encountered Colonel Glyn's column, which kept the Zulus at bay for several hours, until their ammunition failed. The Zulus advanced with demoniac yells, and a fearful struggle ensued. The Zulus hurled the corpses of their comrades on the British bayonets, thus overcoming the resistence of the British, who were literally hewn down, not a living white being left, in camp. The losses of the Imperial army were 786 men and 51 officers, of the Colonial forces 110 whites and 21 officers. The health of the remainder of Glyn's column is bad, suffering from privation and exposure.
