One gentleman who evidently intended to bid for it was unfortunately prevented from doing so, owing to his not being provided with the necessary " cash," and a cheque not being considered as coming within that meaning.

The annual meeting of the subscribers of the Thames Hospital will be held in the Theatre Royal this evening at 8 o'clock. The retiring committee are called together at73o to approve,and adopt the report prepared by the sub-committee appointed for that purpose. By the advertisement in another column the arrangements made for the admission of subscribers is notified.
