Destitution on the Palmer.

The blast furnace has been started at Lithgow Ironworks for the purpose of making rails for the extension of the railroad into the city in time for use during the Exhibition.
The majority of the population on the lower Palmer Diggings, Queensland, are destitute and prostrate with fever, while the resources of the hospital are exhausted.
Sydney, March 31. ' The pugilistic trio met with a great ovation on arrival in Sydney.
