The Eight Honorable Hugh Childers has been appointed Agent-General for Victoria, and his acceptance of the office probably depends upon the report of the Committee of the House of Commons as to Sir Bryan O'LogMen's retention of hie seat as member for County Clare.
This morning's papers states that peace negotiations with Yakoob ICbau have failed, and that an immediate advance of British troops upon Cabul will take place.
