Delate on tho Zulu War,

Russia and the Occupation of

Boumelia.

London, March 27.

The House of Commons to-day had a long debate on the motion of want of confidence in the Government with reference to the Zulu war, proposed by Sir Chas. Dilkc.

The Hon. F. A. Stanley, Under Secretary for War, said it would be most inexpedient then, to make a statement defending Sir Bartle Frere, the Governor at the Cape. The House agreed to an adjournment of the debate till next day.

The Under Secretary of State for India obtained leave to introduce a bill authorising the loan of £10,000,000 by England to India.

An official note from the Russian Government proposes that a corps numbering 15,009 men composed of contingents from each of the great powers shall occupy Eoumelia for twelve months after the Eussian troops have left, to maintain order.

The s.s. Cuzco has sailed from Plymouth for Melbourne.
