The fight for the championship of the colonies and fifteen hundred pounds, between Foley, of New South Wales, and Hickei, of Victoria, c.;me off near Moema in the eirly morning, There was the greatest difficulty in evrding the police, and mounted troopers were sent miles in the wvong direction. Crowds of sporting people who travelled miles, endured the greatest hardships. In order to prevent an encounter Sers,t. O'Mera, of the Victorian police, was present, but was unable io interfere, as the fighting was on the New South Wales side of the border. Hicken suffered terribly, and at the sixteenth and last round he was knocked all about the ring, until he fell on his kneos. -Foley shewed himself throughout to be a very hard hitter.
