The following telegram appears in the Australasian to-day:—Mr Pender,- the chairman of the Eastern Extension Telegraph Company, entertained at a dinner, on the 14th instant, the Victorian dele' /gates, Messrs Berry and Pearson. Amongst the guests were tho Earl of Djerby, Earl Granville, 'the Earl of Shaftesbury, the Lord Chief Justice of England, the Eight Hon. Villiers, Mr Gladstone, Mr Lowe, Mr Massey, Mr Bright, MrChilders, MrR. W. Adams, M.P., Mr John Holmes, M.P., Sir Sydney Waterlow, and the AgentsGeneral of Queensland and New South Wales. Later in the evening many M.P.s and distinguished guests came to meet the Premier of Victoria and Professor Pearson.
