The cricket match between the Thames and Coromandel Cricket, Clubs was not the least important portion of the day's amusement. The Visitors' team went in, Whitford and Burgess commencing the bowling to the batting of Woodward and Cadman. The former was speedily bowled by Whitford for a duck's-egg. Cadman made a good stand for 25, when his wickets also fell before Whitford. The wicket keeping of. the Thames was good, and the rest of the team , went out for single figures, the bowling being too warm 10. make a long stand against. Burgess was in splendid form, and the fielding of our side much better than we have seen it in previous matches. The innings closed for 51 funs. The Thames then went to the wickets, but none of our men made a stand except Sfceedman who contributed 15. Beeson and Norman bowled splendidly. The innings closed for 56 runs.
