Bifle Camp (Nelson), Wednesday, 6 p.m.
In the second match an error occurred in marking off ties at the 35 points. Their proper order is :—Sharland, Nelson ; Etching, "Nelson ; McLeod, Thames; Skinner, Auckland; W. Ballinger, Wellington ; Turner, Blenheim. After dinner the sth and 6th matches were continued. A few visitors are in camp from town. The Bishop of Nelson has sent up a frame tent, and seats, for a reading-room tent. It lias been fixed up in rear of the line of staff tents. To-night there will be a concert in camp, Mr Stanton, of Nelson, having kindly lent a piano; and Mr Pownall, of Nelson, will officiate. The Volunteers do not patronise the early and late trains, but prefer to remain in camp. . The bulls-eyes at yesterday's pool were worth about six shillings each. Ballinger, Wellington ... 67 Buckley, Christchurch 67 A protest has been entered against Marshall's score for firing four sighting shots. The rules distinctly state that only two are allowed. The protest will be inquired into ly a committee thi3 evening, and it is expected Marshall will lose his prize.
