NELSON.

(Rifle Range), Monday.

Notwithstanding the heavy rain and wind of last night, the weather this morning was all that could be desired. At 9 a.m. the representatives mustered and marched to the Railway Station, and arrived in due course at the Camp. Everyone expresses satisfaction with the situation, and conveniences. The arrangements are very superior to previous years. Discipline will be maintained in Camp, Major Noaks having been appointed Camp-Adjutant. There are 124 entries for the first match.

A match between the Wellington City Rifles and the JNelson Naval Brigade was fired this afternoon. The ranges were 200, 300, and 400 yards; six shots, six men on each side. Wellington scored 295; Nelson, 286.
