QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
The water in this mine continues to rise steadily, though at not so rapid a rate as when the pump first stopped. It is increasing about nine inches per day, and is still some distance below No. 6 level. The slowness of the increase may. be accounted for from the fact that there is more ground t•> fill as the water rises, "and also the present amount of water gives great pressure. The tributers, Wiugate and party, who are understbping a few feet below No. 6, are just on the top of the water, in fact the water is following them up. and they will soon have to stop work below the No. 6 level. The manager has a tew men employed driving on ova of the cross lodes, which looks payable, and a few tons have been teat to the mill.
