PRINCE IMPERIAL.
A discovery of some importance has been - made in the mine. It will be remembered that for some time past the No. 2 lode at No. 3 level where driven on west has been considerably split up. A few days ago a fine solid body of quartz about three feet thick with well-defined walls was come upon. This crossed the course of the No. 2 lode at an acute angle, and the manager believes that it is a new cross lode as nothing like it has ever been seen in the mine before. It may turn out to be a continuation c f the No 2. Driving operations are being continued on it, and good minerals are freely seen in it, together with a little gold. The operations below the bottom level are carried out as the weather permits. There are about 50 tons of quartz from all sources broken out, and crashing will be commenced shortly. It is the manager's intention to crush a parcel separately from the new lode.
