GISBORNE.
Saturday. Protests were lodged against the sale of the late Mr Eead's estate yesterday, by Mr Eees and others. The property sold very high notwithstanding. The Masonic building was bought by the New Zealand Insurance Company. Captain Eead's freehold land averaged between £10 and £11 per acre. 1,350 acres were sold. By the conditions of sale purchasers take all risks.
