This day.

Captain Symonds, master of a small coasting schooner, is missing for the past four days. It is supposed he is drowned. Seven square rigged vessels are now loading at Makarau, j,Kaipara. Mr Sbeeban telegraphs that he will return to Auckland next Thursday, and meet the Chairmen of the northern County Councils. Henry Niccol, charged with robbery from a hotel, was acquitted, the evidence being insufficient.
