We would call attention of members of the Protestant Alliance Friendly Society to the advertisement in another column concerning the necessity of their informing the Secretary, Mr William Smith, at once whose list they prefer being placed on.
A tei/egbam has been received from Alexandra regarding the movements of the Hon. J. Sheeban, who was,at Alexandra yesterday. He was to leave this morning for Hamilton, thence to Morrinsville this evening, where he will remain until Saturday morning. To-morrow he will leave for Te Aroha and reach Komata on Monday, on the evening of which day the banquet will take place on his arrival at Thames.
A match, Married v. Single, will be played at Parawai to-morrow, wickets to be pitched at 2 p.m., at which time all should be on the ground. We trust to see a good attendance to show that the love for the game is not decreasing on the Thames. The players will be selected from the following:—Married—Steedman, Bull, Lawless, Paul, Potts, Murphy, Wardell, Young, Lough, West, J. E. Macdonald, S. C. Schofield, Hennelly, Crump. Single— Wbitford, Burgess, Spencer, Hargreaves, Smeaton, Gellion, Cameron. Car rick, B. Baxter, T. Baxter, Munro, Wadding ton, Tregonning, Mills, Buttle.
