Melboubne, January 7. The Underwriters' Associations report: the arrival at London on December 31st of the barque Glencaladh, from the Bluff, and the Spirit of Dawn, from Auckland. The Piako, from London to Lyttelton, has repaired at Pernambucco, and proceeded on her voyage. A portion of her cargo was sold by auction, being unfit for reshipment. January Bth. Sailed: Eingarooma, via Hobarton, yesterday. Arrived : Albion, this morning. >"' Sydney, December 7. The miners and other employees at the Bulli Colliery have been dismissed. All work is at a standstill. Melboubne, December 7. Melbourne beat the Canterbury Cricketers by 169.
A deputation of the Harbor Trust waited on the Minister for Lnnds with a proposal to supply half-a-million tons silt for the reclamation of swamps around the city at a cost of two shillings per ton. The Minister consults colleagues.
