Thames Harbor Board.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Board was held at the Council Chambers this morning at 10 o'clock. Present— The Chairman, Dr ELilgour, Messrs Bagnail, Wilson and Spencer, ! v MINUTE 3. v' The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. : LANDING WHAEF FOB TIMBBB. Souler | pointing out that the place on the foreshore where the Bmaller vessels landed mining timber and firewood was silting up, and suggesting that a small landing wharf be erected outßide the silt works.. The trriter also urged on the Board the necessity of the erection of a gridiron. ; It was resolved that the Chairman see Gapt. Souter re the matter of the landing wharf for timber. The matter of the gridiron was ordered to stand over till, after the dredging works had been commenced... „:,';'^ ['/';. .'."': ;..'■. ./■; ,0 HOSPITAL DEMONSTBATION. ; A letter was read from the secretary to the Hospital Demonstration Committee asking the Board to attend at the Demonstration;- It was unde^ifood that as many of the Board as could attend would be

present. ; Mr Bagnall said that the arrangements he aad Mr Mennie had made re the dredge were with the Works Committee of the Auckland Harbor Board, and he had asked them to prepare the necessary deeds, but they did not wish to do that until, the Board met on Tuesday. The members of the Board and the Insurance Agents had been of opinion that a vessel the sice of the Rotomahana would at least be required to tow it down. No arrangement had been made about hiring tiie Kotomahana, and if the Insurance A gent? were willing he supposed a smaller vessel might be used. The dredge, would be very well suited to the requirements of our harbor, but the great difficulty was getting punts, and h9 would suggest that they should hire a few from persons having them here. After some discussion it was respired that the .Chairman and Messrs Priie and Wilson be a committee to arrange all detail in connection with the working of the dredge and punts.
