Messrs Bunny and Beetham addressed tbeir constituents at Masterton lest night. Both expressed disappointment at the results of the session. Mr Bunny characterised the financial proposals of the Gorernment as of a tinpot character. The speeches of both gentlemen were con*
sidered meagre in the way of affording information. A voto ot thanks was carried in favor of both for their attendance that night and past services.
The meeting of auctioneers convened to discuss the mode in which Government property was sold fell through, the auctioneers not responding to the invitation.
A sharp shock of earthquake was felt here at seventeen minutes to twelve. It made gas pendants and other things vibrate for several seconds. :
