This day.
The steamer Memsahib arrived here yesterday afternoon from Thames. She had on Board .Mr .Wakefield, Under Secretary for Gold fields, Colonel Fraser, R.M. and Warden, Thames;, Aler. Brodie, Ksq., .County Chairman, Thames; Alex. Aitk^n, Esq., County Engineer; Mr A. Porter, one of the members of the Ohinemuri riding;' Mr Mcllhone, Inspector of Miners', JRights; apd Messrs Walker, Comer and Hall of Thames mining notoriety. Col. r Fraßer was accompanied by, Mrs Eraser and Miss Beveridge of Auckland. Immediately after arrival Mr Wakefield placed* himself in communication with Major Keddell and other goldfields .officers, and up to a late hour was engaged on official business. This morning several deputations'waited upon him, but the result is riot yet known. He, in company with Major Keddell and several others, left for the Tokatea and Kapanga mines a short time ago, and from what I hear on all sides he will have a busy time while here. ; f .
