THIS DAT. (Before Colonel Fraser, 8.M.) DBUNKEKMBBS. ■ One individual was charged with this offence, pleaded guilty, and was fined 10a and costs, or the usual alternative. LABCENY. The child Mary Jane Cogan, who was convicted the day before yesterday of larceny of a pair of boots, and remanded, as the mother promised to aend her away to a friend in the Waikato, was brought' up and discharged, her mother engaging to send her away to-day. I BBFACH OF BFGISTBATION ACT. I Elizabeth Williams waa charged with unlawfully neglecting to regu.er the birth of her grandchild, contrary to the provisions of the Registration Act, 1375. Defendant pleaded guilty. M. A. DeO. Potter ion, Deputy .Registrar, stated that the defendant's daughter had resided on the Thames in May last, and the child was bora here. About a fortnightafter wards, Mrs Jacobs, defendant's daughter, received a letter from her husband in Sydney, who was very ill, and she had to go away at once, taking the infant with her, and consequently the birth was not registered. A short time ago Mrs Jacobs wished to g.i her child vaccinated in Melbourne, but could not get it done owing to the birth not being registered. Sho therefore wrote over to her mother to get it done; but the six months prescribed by the Act had expired,' and the only way to get the birth registered was under a conviction, and hence these proceedings. .Fined the nominal penalty of Is and costs. Court adjourned. .. . .
