The Afghanistan War.
The following calograms appeared iv last night's Auckland Star :— London, November 23. The British troops attacked Alimuszurin. A heavy artillery engagement ensued. Eventually it was silenced. Thursday evening. Alimuszurin was assaulted, and all arms captured. The troops are advancing. Thursday night. General Kauffman, Russian commander on the frontier, has forwarded the Ameer a costly sword and eulogistic address. ! The .Quettah column has pushed the enemy back from all positions, and occupied Kushlak unopposed. Pabis, November 22. Fourton and Gambetta had a duel with pistols. Two shots were fired; both combatants escaped unhurt. The seconds prevented further conflict. Sydney, November 23. Fort Alimusjid, eight miles, within the Khyber Pass, was gallantly stormed by Major Birch. Lieutenant Fitzgerald and forty Sepoys were killed. The storming was quick and decisive.
There is a coldness between Germany and Denmark, and difficulties are feared.
The British Parliament is summoned for for December sth.
