Melboubice, Saturday. •*

The Flemington race-course was crow* ded to-day, the first day of the meeting.

For the Derby, Wellington was first, Warlock second, His Lordship third. The race was won easily; time, 2mins 47secs. Only six horses started. The bookmakers won heavily.

For the Footscray Stakes Vampire was first; George Frederick second, Judge third. Won easily.

For the Maribyrnong Plate 25 horses started. It was a fine race. Nellie first, Baroness second, Gainsborough third. Won easily by three-quarters of a length. Time, Imin. sseos.
