"Friday. At 'Mr Martin's gala of 'properties today there was a good attendance, and bidding was spirited, considering the present lull. The Eastbourne estate, containing 615 acres, fell to P. Tapper, at £8 2s 6d per acre. An eighth of an acre section in Esk street, and in a good position, was bought by the New Zealand Insurance Company for £950. Section 61, block 6, Jacob's River, containing 30 acres of the Ohau bush, was sold to Mr J. K. Mills, at £2 5s per acre; 14 allotments at South Kiverton sold as follows: —3 three-quarter acre sections, to Horan, each £14; 3 one-acre sections, each £8 10s, to Mills; 9 one-acre sections, each' £8, to Wilson. " -
