His Honor Judge Johnston proceeds to. Welling ion on Monday to attend the Court of Appeal. The County Council elections, which take place on the 13th instant, are exciting considerable interest.

Mr Hannay, who has for some time taken the post ot assistant traffic manager at Christchurch, has beei\ appointed Secretary of Railways for the Middle Island. He will be succeeded by Mr T. Edwards, of the Inveroargill line.
