The subsidy.was not mentioned. a ■ After a good deal of discussion, in which the principal objection was that Mr Macandrew failed to furnish any detailed information, the resolution was formally put into committee, when progress : was reported, Mr Macandrew expressing a hope that he would be able I to give the House full information next session. - - . PBBSOKAIITIBS AND MIVILEGHB. On the second reading of the Appropriation Act, Major Atkinson took occasion to review the session, the burden of his remarks going to show that the Government had failed in all their pro* mises. Major Atkinson moved that the words be taken down, which was done. A very long discussion followed on the points of order, when Mr Sheehan moved that the words did not exceed the ordinary custom of debate. - Mr Atkinson's motion was negatived by 29 to 13, and Mr Sheehan's amendment was practically carried by 29 to 13. Sir George Grey, who had left the chamber, returned, and finished his speech, in which he denounced Major Atkinson and his party for withholding the liberties of the people, aided by a hostile council and governor.
