Oddfellows' Anniversary.

A highly successful evening party, in celebration of the anniversaries of the Loyal Waikato and Loyal Charles Bruce Lodges, eventuated at the Academy of Music last night. Dancing commenced at 9 o'clock, close on one hundred couples joining in the amusement. The members of the friendly societies present were decorated with their regalia, which had a very pleasing efiect, The following was the programme of dances: — Part I.— Quadrille (Loyal Waikato), Waltz, Lancers, Mazurka, Caledonians, Schottisohe, Quadrille (Alberts), Yarsoviana, Quadrille (Ist set), Waltz, Lancers, Galop. Parl 11. — Quadrille (Loyal Charles Bruce), March Waltz, Lancers, Highland Sohottisohe, Quadrille (Alberts), Polka, Quadrille (Ist set), Waltz, Mazurka, Caledonians, Yarsoviana, Circassian Circle. Mr Christeasen's fine band supplied the music, which, with Mr Curtis' catering, gave the greatest satisfaction. Mr Oates, the indefatigable secretary to the committee, was here, there and ererywhere attending to the comfort of the dancers, and the other members of the committee were assiduous in their exertions to. carry out the proceedings sue* oessfully. Dancing was kept up with vigor until the small hours of the morning, and all appeared satisfied with the night's amusement.
