All the shares in this renture haring been subscribed, operations hare been commenced this week. Tha partj of prospectors commenced at Puru creek, and on Wednesday they were engaged at prospecting near the Mata creek, beyond Tapu. This* locality it is hoped will prove, payably auriferous, as from time to time good gold has been found in the creek, . and in one or two instances rich gold has j been found adhering to pieces of quarts, j indicating undoubtedly the existence of a | rich quartz lode somewhere in the ricinity ' of the creek, a thorough prospecting being i all that is required to di«ooT«r it. > i
