PRINCE IMPERIAL.
The mine continues to look well. On Saturday the manager obtained several* pounds of good picked stone from the • No. 2 lode at west drive bottomleTel,
SQWE'S CALEDONIAN TRIBUTE. The manager expects to be in a position to start crushing in another month at the furthest. At -the mind the drive and leading stope are being, pushed ahead quipk at possible, but as these are merely ripening works, the supply of quartz is^ not # so, large as it will be when stopihg is fairly started., In the leading stope the lode is. being stripped. -Gold is still Visible in i the face, but as only'a,; small quantity of •dirt has been broken lately, no specimens of-any^ consequence have been ■obtained since the ( crushing. As far as the lode has yet been worked on it averages about eight inches through with 'irregular walls, but the quartz tears easily.. The shot of gold appears to run diago> nally across the lode, one peculiarity of which is it is constantly being crossed by' small quartz threads and, Slocks ohiefly striking in at the footwall. These latter seams generally Vccompany a good and lasting run of gold, as may be exemplified j by the LiUle Lizzie and other mines.
