Scottish No. 1 Officers v. Xoa»
An interesting rifle match between 15 officers and non-cons, and 15 men of the Scottish No. ICompany took place at the . Government Range-on, Saturday after- 4^ noon. Considerable interest was evinced in the match, a number of ladies gracing . the range with their attendance. The. tanges were—2oo, 400, and 500 yards, and at the first two ranges the weather was favorable to fair shooting, bat at the' longest range the, freshening of the western breeze caused some* poor scores to be made. * The highest scores on tbt) officers' side were made by Major Man*? and Drum-Major McLean, who scbrtd 51 and 50 respectively, and 4 Vol. Hamilton's score of 49 was the highest made in the privates' team.
