Wednesday. Mr Wakefield gave notice for the recommittal of the Land Tax Bill. THE DISMISSAL OF MAGISTEATES. Mr Fox moved for a committee to inquire into the dismissal of Major G. Mair and Mr Searancke.... Mr Fox spoke at some length urging the reasonableness of the request, and claims of these officers on the country, and pointed oat how the Premier said the Government would not shirk inquiry, while the Native Minister objected to any investigation.
