John Maurice Fitzgerald was to-day brought up at the Police Court charged with cutting down a number of fruit trees and doing damage to the garden of Mr Williamson to the extent of £50. Complainant, it appeared, had sereral times opposed the granting of a license to the prisoner. After a large amount of evidence, the prisoner was committed for trial, bail being taken. . .

A few days ago a fracas took place at the Garrick Hotel, which resulted in one of the parties, named Hugh McClatchie,/ being removed to the hospital.
