CITY OF NORWICH.

There is little change to report since my last visit to the mine. The rise is not yet through to the upper level, but good progress is being made, and in another ten feet of rising or so connection will be completed. The lode in the face of the drive is 2 feet thick—fine dark looking stone.- Colors of gold are seen constantly, and a few lbs of picked dirt are occasionally obtained. The shareholders have commenced, a crushing of about 20 loadi at the Herald battery, but as yet no idea can be given as to how it is going to shape. About an ounce to the ton if expected.
