L.R.C.5.1." ; • ■ j The report was adopted on the motionf of Mr Murray. * ':'/ : ?■■■"■■'"'■'■ -j :: FUNERAL COMMITTEE'S BbEOET. \ The Committee appointed <o enquire; .into the manner fof conducting-Hospital! l funerals submitted the following report:; —•' Your committee baring inquired into, the usual conduct of the funerals from the hospital by the coutractor, recommend that in future, where a patient has died, ' and has to be buried at the expense of the hospital, and without friends to assist in the interment, or in <he absence of such friends to render such assistance, that the dispenser be authorised, when such circumstances render it necessary, to the best of his judgment to employ two men to follow the corpse to the cemetery and assist the undertaker in bearing tbe body to the grave. We are of opinion that this, in addition .Ho the arrangements already made, is all that is necessary.— James McGowan, Chaibman:" i * The Rev. J. T. Hinton suggested that a fixed rule be laid down for payment of men attending funerals. Mr Uenshaw said it was sefdom these men would be required; os the deceased generally had some friends.. The dispenser was not bound to provide men in every funeral. With reference to state-, merits that had been made as to the difficulty of getting clergymen to officiate at Hospital funerals, he might mention that the committee had made enquiries, and had found this not to be the case. The report was then adopted. . HOUSE COMMITTEE. The following gentlemen were appointed House Committee,for the ensuing month : The Eeva. J. T. Hinton 1 and V. Lush; Messrs Gudgeon and Miller. . ' APOLOGIES. ' The absence of Messrs McCullough and Davies was apologised for! " lIOXOBARY MKDICAL STAFF. ' The Itev. J. T. Hinton said that at last meeting it was decided to elect Dr Gilbert on .the Lonorary medical staff when he

was registered as a duly qualified medical practitioner. He-moved that Dr Gilbert's name be added to the honorary medical staff. Mr Eenshaw seconded. Carried. This was all the business.
