The own correspondent of the Express telegraphed at noon to-day as follows :-rMortimer's ■ party are 'obtaining good heavy gold at new ground in Mountain Camp Creek, .Whakamarina, running 27 dwts to the dish. Last'; week they found a nugget of over an ounce in weight. Constable Bailey reports that another party obtained 9ozs yesterday. TUe P'UnriUoV Island Copper Com-
pany held a meeting yesterday, and «», very favorable report from the manager was received. Mr J. W. Carthew, an experienced -person "from the Thames Goldfield, was appointed mine manager, vice M'r^Manton, resigned. Mr Buff was appointed secretary.
