: This day. The Masonic installation was a great success, the best in Wellington for years. Special votes of thanks were passed to Bro. McCullough, installing master. The theatre'was filled with .brethren. There was a sumptuous banquet afterwards, and a complimentary, address to Brothers Whitaker, Johnston and other installed officers. The visitors present were invited afterwards to a grand ball, the Governor and Lady JNormanby being present. • The debate upon the Treasurer's Statement will not be finished fora week.
Members' are going South to-morrow, the Ministry, with the exception of Mr Stout, remaining behind. The Thames Scottish will likely be allowed to raise a third company; A vote, for the drill shed on the parade ground will probably be passed. ■'■[
