The following >is., a copy of the mine manager's usual, weekly report, submitted at the usual weekly meeting of the directors held at Auckland to-day :—l5O feet Level.—Fa'V progress has been made in driving west on- No. 4 leader, which is now eight inches thick. In breaking dowb good .colors"; of. gold Ure seen, and a JFew Übi lof ipicked stone were obtained. The air being fodl.we'are:powjptttting<ini air pipes from one of the passes/ ; The stopes between two slides, and especially the western stope, hare shown large quantities of mineral, with good indications for .gold; but,a band of clay has crossed! the "reef, heaving it into, footwftU* on north side. The stopes on Wo. 9 reef and hanging wall branch show no change to remark upon. ■80 fcfet Lewi. —Two jneri are driving west on Do. 9, which is 18 inches thick, but low, grade stuff. The No. 2 reef in. rise has not been broken down this week. In about eight days • the winze and rise will be connected, giving good ventilation, and stoping can then be started. Our crushing is showing up for an 'improvement over last retern. The drive on Point Bussell reef from main tunnel has been extended 20 feet this week. There is a large flow of water coming from face,. about two feet up from floor, b.ut it has not yet shown signs of draining' the winze above, although the tunnel is now • under it. I consider it desirable to continue driving on reef at least another week, to see if water will drain from the winze before sinking is resumed. The reef is now 2| feet thick, and shows gold bearing mineral in places. As the battery has been fully engaged this week the Btuff from the tunnel lias not yet been treated,;and there is how 25 tons in hopper.—Robt. Comes. .
