Last night, about 9 o'clock, when going home from the House, Karaitiana was taken suddenly ill, with what appeared to bo a paralytic stroke. A doctor was at once called in, and pronounced the symptoms to be of such a nature as to leave little hope of the patient's recovery. This day. The new street tramway will be formally opened on Saturday under the auspices of His Er^ellency the Governor. A trial of the engine and carriages was made yesterday, r,:id !he result was most successful. |
