OLD GOLDEN CALF.
- The manager has just started work on a new reef some three feet thick which he supposed is identical with the old No. 1. A winze is now being put down, and nold is seen constantly, some good specimens having been obtained during the last few daja! A trial crushing of the stuff T»led seven ounces from some seven llaas of stuff, and another parcel is now being accumulated which it is expected ■will average two ounces per load. There is a very large block to work out in this level, as there are a 150 feet of backs. This lode will also affect the Caledonian as ifc runs into that company's ground.
