NEW NORTH DEVON.

At this mine the only work in progress just now is the driving of the contract on the lode. The reef is of largo size, and the country is pretty easy. The quartz, however, is low grade just now, and no gold is seen.- There is about 300 feet to drive ere the Titania boundary is reached. Dixon's reef runs almost parallel with the Sons of Freedom lode (not being worked on by the New North Devon), and I am informed that it traverses the New North Devon ground, and may probably junction with the fcfons of Freedom lode ere the Titania boundary is reached. A cross-cut put in no great distance would intersect the Dixon's lode, which, as stated yesterday, is showing fine prospects in the Alburnia. As the drive is the only'; work but little quartz is broken out, and it is intended to start crushing shortly.
