Yesterday 160 sears in the dress circle for Mr W. Hoskins' benefit were sold by auction and realised from 6s to 8s each. Subsequently all the others seats were engaged at 5s each.
Richard Thomas, a solicitor, was violently assaulted in the public streets yesterday. It is believed to be the result of a business dispute.
The police case between Tilly i idrewa, the actress, and her husband, was settled out of Court. It is understood that the latter agrees to give up his wife's wardrobe, etc., and a deed of separation is to be drawn up. This day. Sveral greyhounds have been sold by auction. One named Borgia, imported from England by Mr Wynn Williams, realised £20.
On application to the Government the charitable aid board hare resolved to admit patients to the hospital from Kaikoura at a charge of £2 each, weekly.
Haynes and Benham's circus opened on Saturday night to a large audience.
