(Retttee's Special to Pbess Agency.) London, August 7. The Chancellor, of the Exchequer made & financial statement showing a deficit of four millions two hundred and fifty thousand pounds. The House of Commons agreed to a ministerial motion for an immediate issue of two million pounds worth of Exchequer bills. Rome, August 7. The negotiations between Germany and the Vatican have resulted favorably.

London, August 8. Major O'Gorman apologised to the Speaker to-day. Twenty-three thousand pounds have been voted towards the administration of Cyprus under the Foreign Office. Mr Drummond Woolf has been appointed the British member of the commission to organise Eastern Boumelia. The Australians played a one day's maxh with eighieen of Burnley, who made a hundred and two the first innings. The Australians have nine out for forty- ! s>x. There was a large attendance.
