QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
It is intended to retort after rather loss than three weeks' crushing, on Saturduy. The full force of the battery is going on staff chiefly from the. bottom level reef. I am informed by one of the directors that it is going for about 15dwts per load. At the mine the contractors continue stoping on the Queen of the May leader, footwall section. The lode is small at present, and the out-put from it is limited, as great care has to be taken in the breaking of the quartz to prevent it being adulterated with mullock. There is no change to report in connection with the bottom level—a considerable amount of work is being done there. The tributers, Wilson and party, are doing dead work just now at the 150 feet level, and also have a party of contractors sinking a Bmall shaft near the Piako boundary., The old Queen of the May winding engine has' been sold to the Old Golden Pah company, at Coromandel, and it is to be removed at once.
