Thames Horticultural Society.
A meeting of the members of the above Society was held at the Governor Bowen Hotel last night,MrMcCulloughin the chair. The report and balance sheet of the inaugural show was read by the hon. secretary, Mr Tulleine, and, after complimentary remarks from several members, was adopted. The balance sheet showed a balance in hand after all liabilities had been paid. After some discussion it was resolved to hold a spring show on the 30th of October next, and also in' connection with it a poultry and bird show. It was thus held early, so as not to interfere with the annual show held on behalf of the Ladies' Benevolent Society. In anticipation of the show, the executive committee were instructed to prepare a prize schedule, which is to be distributed afc an early date to enable intending competitors to prepare exhibits for the various classes. Several new members were spoken of, and the hon. secretary offered to give three substantial prizes for the exhibit of the best basket of vegetables. After a vote of thanks to the chair the meeting ended.
