MOANATAIRI.

The crushing at the company's mill. ' continues to shew up for the usual average; ' There is nothing fresh in the mine since the manager's weekly report given below was written. .The report is as follows:— " 150 feet level.—ln driving west^No. 9 reef has taken a bend south on foot-wall side. This will make a greater distance to drive to reach boundary line. . The reef in end now looks -poor, and is one. foot thick. Fair progress is being made*' in extension of south cross-cut, but noth- . ing has yet been intersected. The drive west between two slides has been extended 60 feet. I shall now suspend driving, and bring along the leading slope to ascertain whether any part of reef has gone off into walls, as both reef and country have been much broken in the. last few feet. 80 feet level.—Driving west on N0..,2 reef has been resumed, and there is more quartz making than formerly. AH stopes throughout the mine are without change to mention, and the crushing is showing for about the same. - average a« the last return. North crosscut, Tunnel level.—The ground has been hard and still remains so, causing:very slow progress to be made. Eight feet has been driven during the past week. The hard belt is about four feet ihiek, striking with the drive. On either side the stone 'is easier for drilling, and from it* present appearance, I think the country will aoon * change, when better progreis > can'be made.—l am, &c, Robt. Combr.
