of the town. The weather was beautiful, though-cold. Timaru Cup of 75 soys, and a sweepstakes of 5 soys for starters; distance, about thre» miles:—lf. Barton's I* g Ivanhoe, aged, 1; Howen's eh h Eyersley, 2; Powell's eh g The Agent, 3. Maiden Plate of 50 soys, and a sweepstakes of, 5 soys each for second horse; distance, about two miles :—B. Fraser's eh g Tommy, 1; B. C. Powell's b m Kakanui Lass, 2; B. Barton's eh g.Enfield, 3. ' Tally Ho Handicap of 100 soys, and a sweepsfakes of 5 soys each for starters, to go to the second horse; distance, about four miles:— Powell's cb. g The Agent, 1; E. Fraser's b g Shillelagh, 2 ; W. Keigh's b h Stockman, 3. Consolation Handicap, of 40 spvs.; distance about 2 miles: Baven Hill's eh Pakeha, 1; Baron,2. During the race Eversley went sideways" on to a fence, causing the rider to fall, and the horse rolled over upon him. He was picked Tip insensible. A rider, Drummett, also had a nasty fall in the Tally-ho Handicap. Arrived, yesterday, the brig Pakeha, from Newcastle. ■ . ,:**
