Theatre Royal.

At the above place of amusement last | night the famous comedy " Our Boys " was produced with a remarkable degree of success, the several characters being ably sustained. Mr John Jack gave a faithful and natural representation of the retired butterman, Perkya Middlewick, bringing out the peculiar idiosyncrasies of the character without making it objectionably vulgar. Mr Steel played the part of the butterman's son carefully And well. Miss Firmin and Mrs Walter Hill were exceed ihgly well fitted for the respective roles, Mary and Vio'et Melrose, while Mr O'Brien, as Talbot Champneys, gave a very fair impersonation of tie lisping swell, occasionally overdoing the part, but giving promise of belter things as he saint experience. He is a young actor, and has personal advantages iv his favor, but, without wishing to be'considered in my way captious, we would counsel Mr O'Brien against exaggeration, and he will advance in his pro? fessioa. Miss Lily May achieved a genuine success as the tlovenly, but warmhearted " slavey ; " she has ability of a special character which will enable her to make her mark. Miss Jessie .Raymond, as the manoeuvring Miss Clarissa Champneys, was fairly successful, and the other mmor parts were above mediocrity. The orchestra play d some excellent selectioos, the house was a gc:d one, and the play s.emed to give every satisfaction-. To-night " Ea»t Lynn " *will be produced, being the last performance but one of the comppny. .... .
