F. A. Hardy, one of the managers if the late Captain Head's estate, William King, and Hurry, of the Makauri Saw Mill, appeared at the E.M. Court to-day to answer a criminal information of violently assaulting and wounding Eichard Joyce at the Boseland Hotel. The case is still proceeding, and much interest is manifested in the trial.

J - This day. In the assault case heard yesterday before the Resident Magistrate's Court, the defendant Hardy was committrd for trial at the next sitting of. the Supreme Court. Bail was allowed in. £400. Defendants King and Hurry were discharged.
