BLACK ANGEL.
. The crushing for this company, at the Moanatairi batte/y, has been finished for the first-class yield of 69 ounces ITdwts melted gold, from 22 loads of stuff. There is another parcel of a similar amount, ready for crushing; but the mana^irg director will be ibliged to wait till the New North Devon stuff is through the lumpers ere it can be crashed. The'quartz is derived from the footwall portion of the Black Angel main reef, which has been left standing. The only drawback is that the old workings from which the quaKz is taken requires to be very carefully attended to. Crushing can now be carried on much more profitably than hitherto as the are-aible to utilise the Sons of Freedom tunnel, and this saves the cost of sending the stuff down the steepest portion of the tramway. In former times the Black An^el was a good dividend paying concern, and it is promising to again assume the role of a dividend payer. The company has funds on hand, and is now being worked in a most economical manner. I may mention that there is enough money in hand now to pay a small dividend.
